Meet the Team

Kath O’Dwyer is the Home Manager at Ty Llandaff. Kath has worked in the care industry for over 30 years and has extensive experience across the sector. Her career to date has been working with local authorities, charity and the private sector, in residential and Nursing Home settings, Day Services and Supported Living. “It has been a privilege to care for our elderly and I have had the pleasure of a lifetime of stories and memories in my journey. I strive for excellence, my door is always open, the values of the Care Concern Group and what I am committed to delivering, care of the highest standard, the basic principles of care I very much respect, and dignity is of the highest priority.”

Kath is a very passionate carer, and endeavours to drive quality in the service for those in our care, with the combined support from staff, families, local authority commissioning teams, health care professionals and regulators.

Andrea is our Deputy Manager here at Ty Llandaff and has a wealth of experience having previously worked with us as a Clinical Lead. Andrea started her career as a Care Practioner for Social Services in an EMI Unit before embarking on her nursing training. Having practiced as a Registered General Nurse for over 20 years she has worked in intensive care, outpatients hospital for medical rehabilitation, and on a specialised Parkinson’s ward.

Sue brings a wealth of experience having worked extensively in the NHS and having first worked at the home at its opening in 2016 across a variety of roles including senior carer, trainer, and receptionist. We are delighted to welcome Sue back as our Office Manager in July 2022.

James has over twenty years of catering experience. James trained at the Celtic Manor resort gaining my qualifications in NVQ 1,2,3 and 4. He worked his way up to the level of Sous chef during this time and helped cater for such events as the NATO summit and Ryder cup.

James took on his first head chef role for Brains working at the Ty Mawr in Lisvane for two years. Following that, James became a Catering Manager at St Joseph’s Hospital in Newport. James then became Head chef of Pentwyn house care home in Marshfield until he became Head Chef here at Ty Llandaff. “I’m very passionate about food and have taken on an allotment which I and my young children enjoy spending time at, it’s very important for me to teach them to respect food and know where it comes from and how it is grown”.

I joined Tŷ Llandaff in February 2024 and am currently studying higher leadership in hospitality management in level 4. I am proud to be able to work alongside the kitchen team to provide the residents here at Tŷ Llandaff with three delicious and nutritious meals a day.

Joseph joined Ty Llandaff in 2022 as an oversees pre-registered Nurse. With the support of the team at Ty Llandaff, Joseph progressed in his role and successfully completed his OSCE exam and is proudly practicing as a Registered General Nurse in the home. Joseph is a valued member of the Team and has recently welcomed his family to Wales too.

Alina joined our team in September 2024, but has been qualified as a nurse since 2012 and has experience working in both hospitals and nursing homes. She strives to always try her best and truly cares about all of the residents here at Tŷ Llandaff.

My name is Ayorinde Eleyinmi, but I prefer to be called Joe. I have a background in public health Nursing, and I have recently completed my level 5 training, as management in Adult health and social care is my passion and goal. I am looking forward to developing my management and leadership skills through my time here at Tŷ Llandaff whilst providing exceptional care to each of our residents.

I am a Registered Nurse and have been in the care industry for almost 4 years now. My job entails monitoring resident treatment, devising care plans and providing medical care during emergencies. I am dedicated to ensuring residents receive the highest quality of care around the clock.

I have been a registered nurse in the UK for the past 4 years and have 12 years of experience and practice abroad. My background is as a scrub practitioner in the UK before moving to Ty Llandaff, where I love my role caring for our residents which allows me to showcase my skills of providing quality care and ensuring a fulfilled life for those that I am privileged to support

I joined Ty Llandaff Care Home as a newly qualified Nurse in the UK in May 2024 where I’m currently happily working. I’m a team player, very hard working and thoroughly enjoy getting to know our residents on a personal basis whilst providing first-class care.

I provide nursing and palliative care to individuals at Tŷ Llandaff Care Home. I have a good background and experience as an intensive care unit-trained nurse. I have acquired experience in a variety of different areas such as medical, surgical and trauma intensive care units. I have both soft skills and technical skills to provide the highest quality care to residents.

Nicola has worked at Ty Llandaff Care Home for over 7 years and is one of our original staff members. Nicola is a hard-working, dedicated staff member with a great sense of humour and she is very organised with a great source of knowledge.

Felecia began her journey at Ty Llandaff care home in May 2023, making a significant move from a different facility within the same company. Starting as a senior carer, her professional evolution reflects her dedication to enhancing the quality of care. Currently, Felecia is actively involved in expanding her role, transitioning into the position of a nursing assistant, and contributing to the wellbeing of those under her care.

Nasher brings years of valuable experience in the field of care. Becoming a part of Ty Llandaff Care Home in November 2023 as a carer, and is proud to have been promoted to the role of senior carer in early 2024. Currently, Nasher is aspiring to become a Nurse Assistant. Nasher is in the final stages of completing my QCF Level 3 and has completed the ‘Get into Care’ training offered by Cardiff Council. Ty Llandaff is more than just a care home to Nasher; it’s a lovely place, and all the residents here feel like family. Nasher is dedicated to providing the best possible care and support to everyone at Ty Llandaff.

I have worked in the care industry for 20 years, gaining my QCF level 5 advanced practice and leadership and management level 2. I am dedicated to providing our residents with the highest quality of care around the clock.

Michael is qualified as a financial expert who digressed into the health sector and recently qualified with a level 3 in health and social care. He loves getting to know our residents on a personal level and being able to provide the highest quality of care.

I am a healthcare assistant with 5 years of experience. I have worked in a variety of healthcare settings over this period which has enabled me to better my knowledge and understanding in different areas. I have worked at Ty Llandaff for 6 months; since joining I have been able to start my level 3 NVQ which will enable me to take my career to the next level and to supervise a team. 

My name is Chrissy and I am a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant with over 3 years of experience in providing high-quality care and support to patients in diverse healthcare settings. With a strong commitment to improving the well-being of others, I have developed a reputation for delivering person-centred care, fostering a positive environment, and leading teams with empathy and professionalism.

I am a passionate healthcare professional with a strong foundation in Biomedical and laboratory sciences. I am proud to provide compassionate care and support to residents at Tŷ Llandaff. This role reflects a deep commitment to improving resident well-being and building a career grounded in empathy and scientific knowledge.

I have been working as a Care Assistant at Ty Llandaff Care Home for two months, providing compassionate and dedicated support to residents. I am passionate about delivering high-quality care and ensuring the well-being and comfort of those I assist. With a strong commitment to teamwork and empathy, I strive to create a warm and positive environment for both residents and colleagues.

I am a dedicated and caring professional here at Tŷ Llandaff with 2 years of experience in providing high-quality care.  graduated from Cardiff Metropolitan I have a strong focus on empathy and respect, incorporating it into my passion for supporting individuals to maintain their independence and well-being. I am committed to continuing my professional development to enhance my skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in the caregiving field.

I am a dedicated Care Assistant at Ty Llandaff Care Home, where I have the privilege of supporting residents with compassion, empathy, and professionalism. Working in a care home has taught me the importance of patience, active listening, and teamwork. I am passionate about making a positive difference in our residents’ lives, whether through a friendly conversation, assisting with daily tasks, or simply offering a reassuring presence. For me, caregiving is more than a job. I am proud to be part of a team that prioritises the happiness and well-being of every resident we support.

I have worked for Tŷ Llandaff for 2 and a half years. The residents are at the heart of everything I do and I am proud to provide delicious and nutritious meals to them three times a day.

Kerhys is our head of housekeeping at home and she is passionate about her role. She takes great pride in making sure our home can look and feel its best.

Wendy has been working at Ty Llandaff since February 2018. She has pride in her job and ensures Ty Llandaff is kept clean and tidy.

Chelsie has recently joined Tŷ Llandaff as one of our Housekeepers and is dedicated to ensuring the space is tidy and exceeds the standards of our residents here.

My passion for cleaning gives me motivation and satisfaction. As an employee of Ty Llandaff care home, I take pride in keeping the home clean and hygienic for all of our wonderful residents.

I am a housekeeper here at Ty Llandaff Care Home. I’ve been in this industry on and off for over 20 years. I enjoy working around and with the residents and enjoy spending time outside my working day volunteering as a befriender in the home.

I am a Housekeeper at Tŷ Llandaff and have been working as a Housekeeper for almost 21 years. I always have the biggest smile whilst ensuring our beautiful care home is the perfect environment for our residents.

Peter joins our Maintenance team here at Ty Llandaff, having previously worked as a driver for Cardiff Bus. Peter is a warm and friendly people person who is always offering his help, a smile, or a song on his Ukelele. in Peter’s spare time, he enjoys caravan holidays.

Having previously worked as a member of our care team, Bev now works in reception here at Ty Llandaff Care Home, where her infectious smile, hard work, and friendly nature are a warm addition to the team. Bev is the magic dog whisperer and is super friendly, greeting all our visitors to the home and making friends with them.

I am the receptionist here at Tŷ Llandaff and love interacting with all types of people whether it is residents, visitors or entertainers. I look forward to being able to brighten people’s days and show prospective residents around.
