An Afternoon of Baking
At the start of February, the residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon baking their favourite cakes and treats. Armed with a table full of ingredients and decorations, the residents grabbed their wooden spoons and got stuck in.
Many of our residents at Ty Llandaff Care Home have a real passion for baking, as it is something they would have done for their families when they were younger which is highly acknowledged by our team as we ensure our residents continue with their hobbies when they move in with us.
It is highly important for our residents to maintain their hobbies whilst going through the transition of moving into residential care. It does not only have many social benefits, helping residents to form relationships with one another, or help our residents to remain independent, but it is highly beneficial for our Dementia residents. Dementia residents are actively encouraged by our team to continue with their hobbies as it helps them to reminisce and trigger fond memories.
Our activities programme delivers a wide variety of things to do, such as day excursions, making use of the many facilities we have to offer, and alternative therapies for those who are struggling with memory loss. Despite our residents living in a care home, the opportunities are endless and our residents are never limited with things to do.
Whether they often enjoy a pampered visit to the Salon or prefer to get creative with Arts & Crafts sessions, our all-inclusive care home can cater for this with our fantastic facilities ensuring our residents achieve the most out of each and every day.
If you would like to find out more information regarding the facilities and the wonderful care services at Ty Llandaff Care Home then please do get in touch, and we will be more than happy to help.
