Sharing Love, Laughter, and Creativity at Tŷ Llandaff This February

February has been a brilliant month at Tŷ Llandaff, filled with exciting activities that have brought our residents together in wonderful ways. From a special Valentine’s giveaway to a brand-new cross-stitch group and some lively games of balloon volleyball, there has been something for everyone to enjoy. These events are all part of our commitment to keeping residents active, engaged, and surrounded by joy, laughter, and a sense of community.
Valentine’s Giveaway
Love was certainly in the air this February as we launched our Valentine’s Giveaway, giving residents, families, and friends a chance to win a beautifully curated hamper filled with delightful treats. To enter, participants simply had to like our Facebook page, tag a friend and share our post - helping to spread kindness while celebrating the warmth and togetherness that make Tŷ Llandaff such a special place to live.
It has been wonderful to see so many people take part, and the giveaway has not only been a fun way to mark the season of love but also a touching reminder of the strong connections at our care home in Cardiff. We love seeing families and friends stay engaged with life at Tŷ Llandaff, and this was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the sense of community we strive to uphold.

Balloon Volleyball
This month, our new sports net has been put to fantastic use with some highly competitive (and hugely entertaining!) games of balloon volleyball. Residents quickly got into the spirit of the game, showing off impressive reactions, teamwork, and just a hint of friendly rivalry! The laughter was contagious as teams battled it out, with plenty of cheering from the sidelines.
Staying active is so important for overall well-being, and balloon volleyball has proven to be a fantastic way to keep moving while having an absolute blast. It’s been heartening to see so many residents getting involved, proving that exercise doesn’t have to feel like a chore—it can be a time to connect, share a laugh, and enjoy a bit of healthy competition.

Cross Stitch Social Group
For those who prefer a quieter and more creative activity, our new cross-stitch social group has provided the perfect opportunity to unwind, chat, and enjoy a bit of mindful crafting. Some residents picked up a needle and thread for the first time, while others reminisced about their past experiences with embroidery and shared stories of handmade gifts and childhood sewing lessons.
The group has been a wonderful way to encourage fine motor skills, patience, and creativity, all while enjoying a warm drink and good conversation. Many residents found the activity incredibly relaxing, and we loved seeing their sense of accomplishment as they made progress on their designs. We’re looking forward to seeing the beautiful creations that will come from this new group in the weeks ahead!

Living Well, Loving Life, and Laughing Together
These events are all part of our varied activities programme, designed to keep minds and bodies active while fostering a sense of togetherness and fun. At Tŷ Llandaff, our focus is always on enriching the lives of our residents and creating moments of joy. As we look ahead to next month, we can’t wait to continue bringing more opportunities for fun, friendship, and fulfilment to our beautiful home.
