Nursing Care FAQs

Care homes and nursing homes can differ in what they offer, depending on what each resident needs. At Tŷ Llandaff Care Home, we have different nursing services. These include helping administer medication, taking care of wounds, assisting with daily tasks, and monitoring health conditions like Huntington’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis. Our nurses also communicate with other health professionals if needed, so every person gets the right care for them.

Recognising the signs below might mean it’s a good time to think about a care home for yourself or someone you love.

  • Notable weight loss or changes in eating habits
  • More confusion or forgetfulness
  • Problems doing everyday tasks like bathing, dressing, or grooming
  • Recent hospital stays due to accidents or falls
  • Chronic health issues like diabetes, heart disease, or dementia getting worse
  • Challenges handling medicines or sticking to treatment plans
  • Need for special medical care or equipment, like oxygen therapy or wound care

Both care homes and nursing homes can assess care needs and suggest the right kind of help. When deciding on a care home, it’s important to talk honestly with your loved one about their needs.

Duty of care is our top priority here at Tŷ Llandaff Care Home. We are dedicated to the safety of every individual through measures such as maintaining appropriate staffing, having skilled and qualified nursing staff, following infection control and medication protocols, and regularly conducting safety audits. Our commitment extends to security measures that prevent unauthorised access and ensuring the protection of our residents.

At Tŷ Llandaff Care Home, we require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care types and are looking to move out. Our compassionate team are on hand around the clock to support you with your moving transition and answer any further questions you have.
